Every so often they’ll ask us (challenge us — it’s not like I’m getting an engraved invitation to write things for people these days) to write a little blog post on RedRoom.com on a certain topic.<\/p>\n

At any rate, I’d been meaning to do this for some time, and when Huntington, the Red Room editor, posted a challenge Wednesday, I found myself with a little free time in the evening to comment on my favorite book.<\/p>\n

My favorite, to kill the suspense, was\u00c2\u00a0The Monster at the End of this Book<\/em>, by Jon Stone. I’ll bet you didn’t even realize the book had an author, and hadn’t just been written by Grover, himself. But, alas, it was simply\u00c2\u00a0starring<\/em> lovable, furry old Grover. I thought I had my reasons for giving it the esteemed title as “My Favorite Children’s Adventure Story,” very high praise, especially considering all the worthy candidates.<\/p>\n

But, in the end, it was for a very different reason than I thought I had that I realized I consider it my favorite children’s adventure story.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
