{"id":1706,"date":"2020-12-29T09:34:20","date_gmt":"2020-12-29T09:34:20","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/wombatsdigit.com\/w\/?p=1706"},"modified":"2020-12-29T09:34:20","modified_gmt":"2020-12-29T09:34:20","slug":"the-new-querying","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/wombatsdigit.com\/w\/the-new-querying\/","title":{"rendered":"The New Querying"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<div class=\"wp-block-image\"><figure class=\"aligncenter size-large\"><a href=\"http:\/\/supertart.com\/authorscoreboard\/\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/wombatsdigit.com\/w\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/12\/image-1024x574.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-1707\" width=\"NaN\" height=\"NaN\"\/><\/a><\/figure><\/div>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">It&#8217;s <a href=\"http:\/\/wombatsdigit.com\/w\/2017\/06\/a-long-time-coming-still-waiting\/\" data-type=\"post\" data-id=\"1337\">been a while<\/a> since I&#8217;ve queried any agents and, for some reason, looking out over a wild and wooly lake in County Kerry, I decided to have one last crack at getting <a href=\"http:\/\/www.wombatsdigit.com\/b\/\">Trip to the Quiet Room<\/a> into the hands of an agent.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Well, the tools agents are using are really excellent now&#8230; I particularly like <a href=\"https:\/\/querymanager.com\">QueryManager<\/a> and some of the questions agents put to you for your submission. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Now, I have no idea what the agent experience is, but as a prospective client, I appreciated the little differences agents added to their submission page. For example, one (<a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/jl_herrington\">Jennifer Herrington<\/a>), asks you what you&#8217;re currently reading, what your favourite book is, what character you most connect with (<em>I am Radar<\/em>, by Reif Larson and Emily St. John Mandel&#8217;s <em>The Glass Hotel,<\/em> <em>The Third Policeman<\/em> by Flann O&#8217;Brian, and Arthur Dent).
